Wow, a very successful Forgotten Coast en Plein Air event and the Plein Air South conference are behind us. With twenty invited artists and more than 60 events around the area (from Carabelle to Mexico Beach and most communities in between), Forgotten Coast brought a wide variety of painters and new art to our community. They left behind a wonderful new Artists' Choice painting voted the best by all of the invited artists and purchased by Forgotten Coast Cultural Coalition for their permanent collection. It is hanging in the front of The Joe right now. Come see this extraordinary work by Kathleen Hudson, a rising star in plein air.
Plein Air South also brought artists - 160 artists. All of whom painted Port St. Joe and the peninsula as much as they could -- given the weather. It rained the whole week. But they loved The Joe so much, they'll be back next year to try again.
The member artists of Plein Air South were kind enough to leave behind their member show paintings. Since PAS is a private event, Forgotten Coast residents don't normally get to see their member show, but this year it's hanging at The Joe until June 20. The show features the work of the keynote speaker, Roger Dale Brown. Please come visit this wonderful collection of landscape paintings.
