We've extended the entry deadline to September 21!
The Joe Center for the Arts is a community based non-profit art center. Our mission is to educate, exhibit, partner and inspire through the Arts. This page is where we will list our current and upcoming Calls for Entry, along with any information we have.
The impact of Hurricane Michael on our physical environment is obvious. We see it daily. What may be less obvious is the effect of Michael on our artists and the artwork they have produced since the hurricane. Our show, "One Year After - Picking Up the Pieces" will commemorate that event by exhibiting work that has been produced since the storm. As the name suggests, we are not looking to document the destruction, but illustrating how we have moved forward, grown and changed since the storm. We will also be looking for a short statement with the artwork, explaining why the work is significant to you, or how it is was influenced by the storm.
Two- and three-dimensional artists working in any and all mediums are invited to submit work that incorporates the spirit of “Picking Up the Pieces”. We would like to see what direction your art may have taken after the storm. You need not be a member of The Joe to enter. Two People's Choice Awards will be awarded at a "Meet the Artists Reception" to be held on October 11, 2019.
The deadline for submitting artworks for jurying is Sept. 14, 2019, and the fee is $10 per piece for up to three pieces.
