Working from a variety of reference photos, each student will create a unique landscape watercolor that incorporates sky, clouds, water, and a variety of local foliage. Cheryl will demonstrate color mixing (especially how to create a variety of greens), water control, landscape design, and how to progress through a landscape painting from a sketch (or tracing) , to first wash - wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry detail, and final flourishes. She'll discuss Plein air painting as well.
Instructor Fee: Guests $40, Members $36, supplies included.
Students: Minimum 2-3, Maximum 15
Note: Please bring an apron or smock to protect clothing.
Cheryl has been painting the local landscape en Plein air since 2015, both in oils and watercolor. She won the People’s Choice award from the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air Quickdraw, and sells her work through The Joe and local galleries. She coordinates a weekly Plein air painting group and all are welcome to join.
